About 2021 Aiways U5
The Chinese company Aiways plans to occupy its niche in the European electric car market. The car manufacturer has obtained the necessary permits and certificates and plans to start selling its U5 electric crossover in Europe in the second quarter of 2021.
The electric crossover length of U5 is 4,680 mm, as with the Audi Q5, with a single charge of 460 km. The lithium-ion battery capacity is 63 kWh. Furthermore, with an additional battery unit, the range may be increased to 560 km over the NEDC cycle.
The U5 crossover is based on the scalable modular platform MAS (More Adaptable Structure). In future all Aiways models will be built on it. The electric motor, which produce 140 kW (190 hp) and 315 Nm, is located on the front (driving) axle, and the tractive sandwich battery with a capacity of 65 kWh is mounted under the floor.
